Oyo/Osun Customs deepens industry ties with visit to International Breweries in Ilesa

In a sustained efforts to deepen collaboration with excise factories and critical stakeholders, the Acting Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Wale Moses Adewole, on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the International Breweries Plc plant in Ilesa, Osun State.
During the visit, DC Adewole, who had recorded significant feats in enforcement duties and revenue generation, underscored the imperative of strict adherence to extant excise laws and regulatory frameworks.
According to him, compliance remains fundamental to optimal revenue collection and preservation of national economic stability.
Also, DC Adewole reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while maintaining robust enforcement of government fiscal policies.
The Area Controller further commended International Breweries Plc for its significant contributions to the national economy, particularly in areas of job creation and revenue enhancement within the Command’s jurisdiction.
He urged the management to sustain its commendable compliance standards and uphold transparency in its operational processes.
In his response, the Plant Manager, Mr Emmanuel Onabanjo, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as both timely and impactful.
He reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering a cordial and productive working relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service and pledged continued adherence to all statutory and regulatory obligations.
The engagement provided a veritable platform for constructive dialogue, giving both parties ample opportunity to address operational concerns and identify areas for strengthened cooperation.
The Oyo/Osun Area Command further reiterated its unwavering dedication to stakeholder engagement, trade facilitation, and effective enforcement of fiscal policies in alignment with the mandate of Nigeria Customs Service.
